Measuring arrows?

I tried my second Portsmouth last night, and a big improvement over my first! However we got a bit pushed for time, so I followed the advice of the regulars who switched to six arrows an end. What a difference using two different sets makes! Original set were by then going reasonably well; the new set were all over the place.

I was considering getting a set of six basic arrows to reduce the variables per session, while still very new. But if I did, how do you measure for arrows?

Also any general advice on arrows appreciated!
