Intermediate / Re-starter 4 week course

We know from our own experience that whilst it’s fairly easy to commit to attend each session of a beginners course IM scoring smlonce the course is over real life tends to slip back into place and it can be really easy to get out of the habit of coming along. Then, when you haven’t been along for a while it can be difficult to make the move to get started again. For this reason we’ve put together an intermediate / transition course for people who have completed the beginners course or want a bit of support re-starting archery.

Courses will run on a Saturday afternoon, last for 4 weeks and cost £100 (including shooting fee for the session). The course will cover :

  • Equipment reminder (what to shoot safely – length, poundage, arrows etc)
  • coaching support through each session
  • the opportunity to try an intermediate level bow using one of our new Seb Flute / Hoyt / Petron bow kits (and the opportunity to buy a kit)
  • get your first handicap score (score at least 3 Portsmouth rounds and record your first personal best for club records)
  • how to join Archery GB and therefore shoot with other clubs (including outdoor clubs)
  • More information on competitions, rounds and shooting outdoors

Feedback:  “I have just completed the intermediate archery course with 2020 Archery, which was both informative and fun.  On it, we learned more technical knowledge, such as how to string a bow, and given information on what sort of kit to buy as a budding archer.   We were given ample individual attention, including having videos taken of us to help us improve our technique.  At the end of the course, an average of our ‘Portsmouth’ scores was taken to give us our handicaps: we can now compete in competitions!

Heidi, our instructor, is a very enthusiastic about her sport and it was catching.   She and her team are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and were very encouraging to all us fledgling archers.  I would highly recommend a 2020 Archery course to anyone.” (Christine Cunningham – Intermediate Course Sept 2011)
