Wednesday Evening Beginners Course – £125
Who is it for: Complete beginners – no experience necessary. Age 16 and over.
Where is it: at our club Downside Centre, Druid Street, London SE1 2EZ. Course teaching starts at 7.30pm but we ask that people arrive 7 to 7.30pm. An instructor will always meet you downstairs. If you are late it may not be possible for us to admit you.
What is it for: Minimum required in order to be able to shoot with most archery clubs. Can apply for Archery GB affiliation following course.
Content: Structured course offering cumulative learning to end up shooting the full senior indoor distance safely and accurately. This is the best course to start shooting competitive / sport archery as quickly as possible. Sessions are generally social and relaxed. Covers safety, etiquette, technique both sighted and barebow, basic equipment knowledge, scoring and competitive archery.
During the course you will have the opportunity to shoot at 20 yards (the full indoor distance) and to score your first round.
At the end of the course we hope that you will register as a club member and begin to use the range independently. We also have regular intermediate courses so you can improve your shooting and bow kits available to purchase.
Includes: 5 x weekly 2 hr sessions, equipment hire, insurance, instruction
When is it available: Courses run throughout the year on a Wed evening. The club also meets on a Saturday afternoon and we run also run a beginners course every Saturday.
