We have a thriving indoor archery club that meets on a Saturday afternoon and on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings close to London Bridge. It costs £10 to shoot which includes equipment hire if needed. You need to do a beginners course if you haven’t shot with a club before. We welcome longbow, recurve and compound archers on Mon and Thursday evenings but due to our rooftop location at the Downside Centre unfortunately compounds are not permitted on a Wednesday evening or Saturday afternoon. Members shoot all 18m / 20 yard indoor rounds (we supply all types of target faces, Vegas, Portsmouth – we even have a few darts faces knocking around!) and we have regular social events.
We hold regular handicap shoots – prize is 3 free shooting sessions! We’re quite keen on handicap shoots as it means that we have a level playing field where novice archers can compete equally against the club record-holders – you just have to shoot well compared to usual form on the day.
We meet every Saturday and have two shooting sessions – 12 to 2pm and 2 to 4pm. The Wednesday session starts at 7.30pm, Monday and Thursday evenings are 7 to 9pm and we need all the help we can get setting up and packing down!
Club membership costs £25 for a year (you can also affiliate to GNAS through 2020) and there is a £10 shooting fee to be paid each session.
