January Newsletter

(sent out to all 2020 members on 28th December)
Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Christmas!
Shooting this week
A couple of people with keys (me included) are shooting occasionally this week (Dec 28th to 1st Jan). We’ll be posting on the 2020 Archery FaceBook group as and when we’re going in to shoot. If you do have keys and are going into shoot it’d be great if you could also post this on the FB group. I think you just need to search for 2020 Archery on FB to find us (you want the group not me!), then you become a fan and you’ll be able to see all our updates and post on the page as well.
Re-opening on Saturday 2nd January
We’ll be re-opening at 12 noon on Saturday and continuing as per our usual hours.
Christmas Shoot and next Handicap Shoot (Sun 31st Jan)
The Christmas shoot was great and really well attended – thanks to everyone who made it such fun. You can find a link to pictures (by photographer Ash) and a small report under news on the website. Also, early warning for the next handicap shoot which, as usual, will be on the last Sunday of the month at 2.30pm. In case you don’t remember the handicap theory it basically means you can win whatever you’re shooting and whatever your level - complete novice or years of experience, with a training bow or the fanciest Hoyt available – you just have to shoot well compared to your usual form on the day. We have a lucky dip of prizes (including 3 free sessions or a month’s free shooting) for the winner each month. It’s usually quite well attended and a fun afternoon (we usually have cakes and tea at half time) so put it in your diary!
Suggestions or Ideas for 2020 Archery in 2010
Huge thanks to everyone for their support for 2020 in 2009. We’re hoping to go from strength to strength in the coming year. If you have any ideas or suggestions – know of anyone that might want to do an event with us, or have an idea on how we can get more people to shoot more often – just let us know. I’m going to get a suggestion box out on the range as well so you can stay incognito if you want to!
Finally – from all of us at 2020 we wish you all a great New Year – may your scores go up and your handicaps down!
